The original Lady Liberty is now back in the main foyer of City High School
“This is just unbelievable!” Principal Bacon said.
The statue has been outside in front of City High since 1949 and was built in remembrance of the Boy Scouts. Last year, it was taken in for restoration with a new Lady Liberty placed in the front of City High.
“It is better that the statue is inside where people can see it and West will not hurt it,” Assistant Principal Terry Coleman said.
Many students gathered around the statue as it was placed in the foyer.
“They did a nice job of remodeling it and it promotes school unity and brings everyone together,” Katharin Viner said.
