On the 11th Anniversary of 9/11, more than 10 years later, the effects of the attack are still pertinent in our society. The Little Hawk asked students around school how they felt that the terrorist attacks of 9/11 have affected today’s society.

Holden Feagler ’14 – “It’s made airports a lot more strict – they’ll pat you down in inappropriate places.”

Andrew Brown ’13 – “It’s made lots of people more cautious.”

Ben Peters ’13 – “I think that 9/11 has made us come together as a nation.”

Cinque Madhi ’13 – “I think that it’s like when black people come from Chicago, and the people here discriminate against them. When people come over here from Muslim countries, we discriminate against them because of 9/11.”

Leo Doyle ’13  - “I believe it’s made us a lot more paranoid for immigrants, and we are deviating from the US values’, like how it was a melting pot.”

Lonnie Chester ’13 – We’re more protective and I think that we do discriminate against the people from their [Middle Eastern] cultures.”
