Interact Leaders Prepare for Year

Interact club leaders are gearing up for a quick start to the year.

“I’m passionate about Interact, and I’m excited to get other people excited,” Liliana Coelho ‘13, co-leader, said. “To be able to try to get people motivated and pumped up about it.”

City High’s volunteer club Interact provides students with various outlets through which to volunteer in their community and the broader world.

This year, co-leaders Coelho, Emma Baxter ‘13, and Cecilia De Boeck ‘13 have worked extra hard to publicize their group through posters and regular announcements, as well as plugs in their various extra-curricular activities.

Interact students volunteered with Iowa City's Sand in the City event this summer.

“We’ve worked to advertise the club, so people are familiar with the name and who we are,” Baxter said.

The first meeting will take place on Thursday at 7:30 in Ms. Watson’s room.

“Anyone is welcome,” Baxter said. “You could never have volunteered before in your life and still come.”
