Brook Price ’13 started off the 2013 Drake Relays the right way. On Thursday, Price finished 4th place in the 3200M run in Des Moines with a personal best time of 9:21.92.
“Im very happy with that time,” Price said. “I’m a competitor, I like to win, but I’m still improving. Thats the overall goal.”
Price kept a consistent pace during the race, hanging out in the 7th place position for the majority of the event. It wasn’t until the last lap when he kicked it into gear.
“I saw the guy [the leader], and I knew there was no way I was going to catch him,” Price said. “I still had to get a personal victory. Thats always what you want to do.”
The Drake Relays will run through Saturday. Price will run in 2 more events this weekend – the Sprint Medley on Friday, and the 1600M on Saturday.
“I always try to finish my races as crazy as I can,” Price said. “That way I’ll have no regrets.”
