After recently signing with Warner Bros, the suddenly resurgent Wu-Tang Clan plans to drop their new album A Better Tomorrow December 2nd, 2014. The Clan hasn’t released an album since they released 8 Diagrams in 2008 to decidedly mixed reviews. Due to experimental methods by RZA the album did not go over well with fans and critics, causing turmoil within the group with Ghostface Killah and Raekwon expressing unhappiness with the recording process.

Can Wu-Tang put the pieces together this time and please lifelong fans while keeping the new generation of listeners interested?

From music that has already been released in advance, Wu-Tang sounds as if they’ve made a solid comeback with classic samples from RZA and old school horns present in the songs “Necklace” and “Ruckus in B Minor”. The lyricism in these songs are also similar the classic Wu-Tang Clan you would hear on their essential projects Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) or Wu-Tang Forever. The beats that RZA produces could be regarded as “new school” or “modern”, with the songs coming off as more a melody than a straight rap song.

Hopefully A Better Tomorrow beings a better tomorrow for the Wu-Tang Clan.
