Fourth Avenue singers including Libby Fischer (’15) hold their second place trophy.

This past weekend, 4th Ave Jazz Co. and City Lights competed at Mt. Pleasant’s show choir competition, InMotion.

In day time rounds, four groups were eliminated in order to move on to the finals. The groups that were not able to move on to finals were 5th Avenue from Western Dubuque, Ramification from Southeast Polk, West Connection from Davenport West and Revelation Show Choir from Des Moines Roosevelt. 4th Ave Jazz Co. was placed in 3rd during day rounds with Xhilaration in 2nd and Central Singers Inc. in 1st place.

Everyone who performed in finals left all their energy on stage.

“You guys along with Davenport Central, Xavier and Rock Bridge all really want this,” Jim Berry, 4th Ave. Director said. “You need to want this and leave it all on stage. You need to fight. WE ARE THE LITTLE HAWKS. THE MIGHTY. MIGHTY LITTLE HAWKS!”

Typically, in the show choir world, the day rounds and final results do not change. But, 4th Ave. Jazz Co. threw the show choir world for a loop. 4th Ave Jazz Co. ended up taking 2nd place from Xilaration just tailing behind Central Singers Inc.
