On Saturday, February 5, 2011 the City High show choirs dominated Music in Motion, the annual competition in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
For the first time in City High history the prep group, City Lights won the prep division and made it to the finals. Not only did City Lights have success, but 4th Avenue swept the whole competition. They brought home the hardware taking Best Male Soloist, Best Combo, Best Vocals, Best Choreography, and taking Grand Champs.
“Sweep, sweep, sweep…” Michael Henkhaus ’13 and Calvary Tutson ’13 chanted during the exhilarating awards ceremony. The gymnasium was filled with screams and embraces as 4th Ave. took the Grand Champion trophy.
