Scholarships Hit City High
April 24, 2015
With another year of graduating Little Hawk seniors on the way, college is right on horizon for these City High students. Scholarships, whether for academics or sports, are a big part of any graduating senior looking for a higher level of learning.
With countless ways to get these scholarships, the majority of students don’t have a clue where to start looking. Except for City High Students.
Only for City High students that is.
With over fifteen different scholarships, the school that leads has made it very easy, regardless of activities or grades, to find one that fits and helps them financially.
“I feel that people can really take advantage of these opportunities to help pay for wherever you’re going for college.” Luke Milefchik ‘15 said.
The scholarships will be presented on the annual City High Senior Honor night on May 11th at 7:00 pm and will be open to all City High Students, parents, and faculty to attend.
The Scholarships were created by City High alumni that have come back to award present and future Little Hawk Graduates based on their success in their four years at City High School. Scholarships include, awards in music, academics, and much much more.
“We offer a variety of different scholarships,” City High principal John Bacon said. “Many of our alumni have wanted to come back and start scholarships for students. We have scholarships for students who excel in music, great student athletes, and we also have them for peer academics.”
Along, with the great scholarships City High has to offer, it’s important to keep in mind that these awards are only for Little Hawk seniors.
“I am very happy to have this option that I am able to utilize to further my education in the future,” Joel Bender ‘15 said. “
With the Senior Honors night right around the corner, many students are eagerly awaiting the scholarships that are close to being presented.
“All scholarships are very positive and we would encourage students to apply to all different opportunities that they can,” said Bacon. “These City High scholarships are just sort of special to the school because they have been specifically created by Little Hawk Alumni for current Little Hawk Students. I hope to see as much of the City High family there as possible to cheer on and congratulate this year’s excellent class of seniors.”
