City beat #6 Dubuque Hempstead in overtime with a penalty kick by Claire Rutherford ’16. The game was tied (2-2) up until the goal.
“We take PKs at practice and I am able to consistently make them,” Rutherford said postgame. “I was just thinking, do what you always do at practice. The keeper almost saved it and I freaked out, I think it might be my first goal in high school.”
