As week six of the NFL season comes to an end, we’ve seen some players far outperform what was expected of them. Some of them haven’t been able to live up to the expectations that fantasy owners placed on them.

By far the biggest surprise of the season so far has been Devonta Freeman of the Atlanta Falcons. After a somewhat slow start in the first two games, Freeman has scored over 25 fantasy points each of the past 4 weeks, racking up 695 total yards and nine all purpose touchdowns along the way.

While some players, like Freeman, have exceeded their expectations, others have failed to live up to there’s. Before the season started, second year player Sammy Watkins was a trendy pick for a top wide receiver. But so far this season, due to both injury and lack of targets, Watkins has scored just 25 points over the first six games this year, leaving owners scrambling for other options.

As Sammy Watkins struggles to live up to his expectations, another receiver, Larry Fitzgerald has experienced a revival this season. The 32 year old veteran has come out of obscurity to score the third most points of any wide receiver this season. If Carson Palmer continues to stay healthy and play well, Fitzgerald should continue to be an elite fantasy receiver.
