Soccer Buzz: Top Ten January Transfer Rumours
January 12, 2016
The January transfer window is officially open and although it is highly unlikely we’ll see some very big transfers throughout the world, there is a possibility of seeing some notable transfers for the rest of the season. Like every year, there are always rumors about big players moving to different clubs. Here are my top ten January transfer rumors for this transfer window.
10. Cristiano Ronaldo to PSG
With recent rumors that Cristiano Ronaldo was unhappy under Rafa Benitez at Real Madrid, the photo of Ronaldo whispering into manager, Lauren Blanc’s ear after the Champions League matchup has started rumors that the Ligue 1 giants are going to pay a staggering $350,000 a week for Ronaldo. Although with Zinedine Zidane now being appointed as Real Madrid’s manager, the chance of Ronaldo now wanting to leave Real Madrid is even more slim.
- Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, PSG or Bayern Munich
The 25 year old Belgian winger, Eden Hazard, has declared that he wants to leave Chelsea. Whether this transfer will happen during this transfer window, or the summer, Eden Hazard’s transfer will surely be one of the biggest transfers of the year. With the $130 million dollar price tag that Chelsea have put on Hazard, PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are the frontrunners for this deal. Although, just like Ronaldo’s case, this deal could come to an immediate close after the sacking of manager, Jose Mourinho.
- Harry Kane to Bayern Munich or Manchester United
When you already have superstar forwards such as Robert Lewandowski, Wayne Rooney and up and coming strikers like Anthony Martial, don’t you think it would be a bit greedy to make a bid for another forward? The Sun has reported that Bayern Munich could be planning a $70 million bid for the Spurs talisman either during the summer transfer window or this current one. Manchester United is also in the chase for Kane. However, Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy, is keen on keeping Kane at White Hart Lane, and as a personal diehard Spurs fan, I’ve got my fingers crossed this deal is far from happening.
- Karim Benzema to Arsenal
This deal has been a rumour for almost a year now. With the French striker having small reports of him actually moving to the Emirates, this deal will most likely either happen through this January transfer window or during the summer window.
- Sadio Berahino to Tottenham
After the twitter fiasco that happened with Sadio Berahino during last summers transfer window, Sadio Berahino could be finalizing his deal sometime this year for an official move to Tottenham.
- William Carvalho to Arsenal
Arsenal are rumoured to be making an offer for the Portuguese defensive midfielder this transfer window. With Francis Coquelin out this deal should be sure to happen.
- Ezequiel Lavezzi to Tottenham
With Lavezzi being linked to the Premier League almost every year, with his contract ending sometime this year, Lavezzi is looking to finalize his move to the Premier League with Tottenham at the top of his list, and with Pochettino having the Argentinian link with Lavezzi I would not be surprised to see this deal happening.
- Illkay Gundogan to Arsenal or Liverpool
After Gundogan saying that he is uncertain with his time at Borussia Dortmund, there hasn’t been much to say where he could be heading in the future. Arsenal are looking to make a $23 million bid for the German midfielder, however with Jurgen Klopp being the man at Liverpool I wouldn’t be surprised to see a bid from Klopp as well.
- Alex Teixera to Chelsea
Teixera’s contract should be ending with Shaktar Dontesk sometime this year and Chelsea are keen on signing the Brazilian midfielder, and after a disappointing start to the season, Chelsea needs all they can use to bring them back up to the top.
1. Jamie Vardy to Manchester United, Real Madrid or Chelsea
After the giant impact the cinderella story striker from England has caused for Leicester City, Jamie Vardy could possibly be finding his way out of Leicester and possibly to another Premier League team or even to La Liga. After the $4 Million signing for Vardy, Leicester could sell the striker for more than $40 million.
