City High Looks to Foul Out Hunger
February 10, 2016
The upcoming City-West basketball game is more than a cross-town rivalry this year.
At this Friday’s varsity basketball game, attendees are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item when they enter the game. These donations will directly benefit local food pantries through distribution by Table2Table.
Donations can include, but are not limited to, peanut butter, canned seafood, canned meat, pasta, pasta sauce, canned fruits, canned vegetables, rice, canned soups and stews, boxed dinners, 100% fruit juice, baby formula, and baby food.
“This is a really good idea,” said Ayla Canin ‘17. “A lot of people come to the sporting events at City and I like how they are helping out people in need, people in the community. Students should be encouraged to give back and keep the community well nourished.”
