Potential prom-goers might want to hold off on trips to Starbucks during Chemistry.

Starting third trimester a new attendance policy will go into effect. Students can’t go to prom if they have three unexcused absences from the same class or ten overall.

Dean of students Gerry Coleman believes this policy will have a positive impact on attendance in class.

“Kids aren’t always where they’re supposed to be and this is a way for us to hold kids accountable,” Coleman said.
