Studying abroad is a privilege granted to few students. Those who participate in learning experiences outside of their home country are exposed to cultures and practices that further expand their views and opinions on the world.

“Traveling abroad is exciting, challenging, frustrating, and liberating. For all those reasons, travel causes us to stretch and grow and embrace cultures other than our own, which is even more essential in our global society. Inevitably, travel teaches us a lot about ourselves too, and who doesn’t need that?” Havilah Peters said.

On March 12, six City High students and two members of faculty embarked on a journey across the Atlantic to London, England. The trip served as a cultural immersion for students involved in aspects of theatre at City High. This venture, supported through the traveling agency Explorica, is offered very rarely at City High.

The students were accompanied and supervised by both Troy and Havilah Peters, the directorial team in charge of this year’s spring musical, Grease, and teachers here in City High’s english faculty. To say that the trip proved to be intellectually prosperous for the students would be an understatement.

“City High drama hasn’t organized a group tour for over a decade, so we thought it was definitely time.” Troy Peters said.
