Day Four

Wednesday, March 16:

Our day began at 6am when we were up bright and early to begin the bus ride out to Stonehenge, where we spent most of our morning among one of the seven wonders of the world.

From there it was an hours ride out to Bath. “One of my favorite places we went to would be Bath, because it was one of the most beautiful towns I’ve ever been in.” Said Estie Dillard ‘17.

Bath is home to the Roman Bath House, a well preserved location for public bathing built by the Romans that predates the 12th century.

“My favorite part was probably Bath because I loved the architecture and also I fawn for hot springs.”  Yusef Abuissa ‘16, said.  Most of the group ate Brie and Bacon baguettes at La Baguette for lunch.

While the town of Bath consists mainly of 18th-century Georgian architecture, it also served as one of the best shopping destinations of the entire trip. “Europeans are beautiful,” Estlin Dillard ‘17, aptly stated as we walked along the streets of Bath, which were home to every big name in clothing from Urban Outfitters to Burberry. Due to typical London traffic, we missed our dinner reservations, causing us to improvise plans at The Black Swan Pub. This was by far the most authentic English dinner experience we had. The pub was welcoming without feeling forced or contrived, loud without being overbearing.
