Day Five
Thursday, March 17:
Thursday was spent traveling London by foot, stopping first at Shakespeare’s Globe Theater, where we attended a theater workshop instructed by a seasoned actress of the globe. While inside the theater, we were able to watch the filming of a television promo for The Twelfth Night. Sadly, this made it against the rules to photograph any part of the interior of the theater. Once again, the group was allotted time to split up and forage for food. Most of us chose to find lunch in Borough Market, one of London’s larger markets, located under train tracks along Stoney St.
Eddy, Estie, and I settled on roast and horseradish sandwiches from a local food vendor. We then regrouped and headed to the British Museum, where we had just enough time to view the Elgin Marbles in all their glory.
We ate fish and chips for dinner with creme and fruit for dessert at an English pub. We didn’t feel that this dessert effectively satisfied our collective sweet tooth though, so we treated ourselves to gelato on our way to The Play That Goes Wrong, which won an Olivier Award in 2015 for Best New Comedy.
