The popular ride-sharing service, Uber, is now available in Iowa City. The company was approved to operate in Iowa City after an ordinance amendment was passed back in early February.

Uber offers cheap and easy rides that can be ordered off of the Uber app. When using the app, users are shown the driver’s license plate and car model for safety precautions. Users are also able to track their driver and estimate how long the pick-up will take. 

The rates for each ride are a $1 base fare, 15 cents per minute, $1 per mile, and a $1.15 booking fee.
