Food and Supply Pantry Opens Next Week in Welcome Center
December 2, 2016
The City High Food Pantry officially opens next week on Monday, December 5th. The pantry will be open for the first 15 minutes after school (approximately 4:00 to 4:15, except Thursdays) in the Welcome Center located in the main foyer.
“We wanted it to be placed in a discreet location so students feel comfortable going for help,” Student Body President Lucia Wagner said.
The pantry will not only supply healthy and filling snacks, but also personal care items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, and feminine hygiene products — all for free.
“I think it will encourage students to come to school if they’re given supplies to get them through the day, such as women’s sanitary products and soap,” Wagner said. “It can even the playing ground to getting a good education.”
Starting next week, you can stop by the Welcome Center after school to pick up any needed supplies. For more information, contact Lucia Wagner or Lucy McGehee.
