HoloNet News – It’s Confirmed: The Last Jedi is Plural

On Friday, February 17th, Disney released the title of The Last Jedi in multiple other languages. It seemed insignificant at first, but people quickly caught on to the fact that in some of those languages, the title was in plural form. Mentioning in the first episode of my podcast, The Star Wars High Ground Podcast, I had recently come to the realization that Jedi was the plural form of Jedi. I had expected it to be singular and contain flashbacks about Luke, stating, “Luke WAS the last Jedi”.

As for, who ARE the last Jedi, that still remains a mystery. The most likely answer is that the last Jedi are Luke and Rey. However, we could see more Jedi emerge, students from Luke’s Jedi Academy, new characters, or maybe even Leia. Sadly, Carrie Fisher passed away in December 2016, so it is unlikely she will be a major part of the new movie. Though in Rogue One, Disney used CGI to bring Peter Cushing (Grand Moff Tarkin) back to life. With the ethics and morality of this way to “re-animate” deceased people being questioned, the future of this technology is still uncertain.

With that being said, be sure to tune in next time for more Star Wars news. This is Landon Clay from HoloNet news, the place for all the Star Wars news, signing out.
