HoloNet News – J.J. Abrams to Direct Star Wars Episode IX
After the separation between Disney and Jurassic World Director, Colin Trevorrow, Disney Studios has handed the third installment of the newest Star Wars trilogy to J.J. Abrams.
Abrams became associated with Star Wars back in 2015 when he was tasked with directing Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
Abrams also directed two Star Trek films and was a producer on the hit television series, Lost and 2016’s West World.
Currently, the second film of the new trilogy titled Star Wars: The Last Jedi is directed by Rian Johnson.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15th, 2017 and Star Wars Episode IX hits theaters May 24th, 2019.
