City High vs. Linn-Mar Swim Meet Duel Preview
6:00 PM at Mercer Aquatic Center
December 5, 2017
With City High coming off of a strong performance at the CR Washington duel, the hopes are high for tonight. Just like last week, it’s not going to be an easy task. Linn-Mar is a staked team, with stand out individuals.
Linn-Mar swimmer Matt Peng’s freestyle times could put City High’s Michale Sadecky ’18 at risk of losing his undefeated record in the 50 and 100 freestyle. Peng has put up a 22.67 (50 freestyle), and a 48.81 (100 freestyle). On the flip side, Sadecky has swam a 22.76(50 freestyle), and a 51.04(100 freestyle). Though Sadecky is not the top seed, that hasn’t stopped him yet. He has consistently showed up to race when he needed to, and every time so far has come out on top.
Another good matchup will be the 500 Freestyle with City’s Eric Thomas ’18 going up against Nick Cavanah. Because both swimmers have put up nearly the same times in past seasons, this should be a good race to watch.
Although relays are usually everyone’s favorite race to watch, tonight’s relays could be pretty one-sided. With City High not having Forrest Frazier’20 or Louis Stephan’20 to compete tonight, Linn-Mar’s strong varsity relay team could have a large lead pretty quickly.
