At the age of seventeen she was named the best high school journalist in the state of Iowa.

Mina was Feature Editor for The Little Hawk this past year.  During her time on staff the paper has won national Pacemaker awards and was All-Iowa News Team of the Year last year.

“As a reporter, I try to focus my writing on important issues that need to be addressed in the world. I try to highlight people and organizations that work to make a positive change, and cover topics to raise awareness about community and worldwide issues,” Mina Takahashi said.
