Jazz Band Auditions start this Monday, August 27 and end Friday, August 31. Auditions will be held by Mr. Ottmar in the band room.

Students should have their audition pieces prepared by their audition time. Just like in past years, students will be placed in one of three jazz bands. Entry-level students will be placed in Jazz Workshop, and middle-level musicians will be placed into Jazz Lab. A fourth jazz band will be introduced this year, Jazz Collective. It will be for middle/upper-level students and Jazz Ensemble will continue to serve as the elite level band. Students will be placed in bands based on how well their audition goes, regardless of grade or instrument.

Students interested in playing in a jazz combo will be placed into a group based on skill level, instrument, and number of students interested in participating.
