Sizzling sausages, bubbling pancakes, and sweet syrup filled the West High cafeteria as hungry coaches, athletes, and families came to the 52nd annual Pancake Breakfast to raise funds for ICCSD sports.

“Pretty much anything you could imagine, the Booster Club has a hand in helping to supply funds for. It’s a hugely important group and not enough people are members of it,” said Terence Coleman, the City High athletic director.

The Pancake Breakfast is an annual event that raises funds for the Iowa City Booster Club. The Booster Club divides the earnings equally between City High, West, and Liberty. They help to purchase athletic supplies for our current athletes.

“Feeding 300 people can be stressful but luckily we break up the volunteer work between the three schools,” said Coleman.

The Pancake Breakfast raised over $40,000 this year to help support City High athletics.
