Tuesday night, City High volleyball went against Cedar Rapids Xavier at home. This was the team’s second game of the season, following its victory over West High just last week. The City High varsity team lost 21-25 in the third set, making it 3-0 overall. 

“I would say last night was a really tough game, but I think we all knew they were good and they had height, we just didn’t want it to bother us,” Makayla Ribble ‘22 said. “The game last night didn’t really show all of our skills [or] what we’re capable of.” 

Despite this loss, the Little Hawks are still hopeful for a good season and believe they can make it to state. 

“This year is going to be fun and hopefully successful. I know as a team our goal is to make it to state, or even win,” Ribble said. “Winning against West really set the tone for this year.”
