Students scattered away from the first floor of City High School as a revolting smell filled its midst. A stink bomb had exploded in math teacher Stephanie McLaughlin’s Algebra 2 class.

At this moment, administration is looking for the person responsible.

Ruth Meehan ‘22, a direct witness of the explosion, said, “I was just sitting in my math class and I heard this really loud bang and there was this silver wrapper that had exploded, and then it immediately smelled like eggs.”

As a teacher on the first floor, English teacher Haley Johannesen could smell the bomb immediately after the explosion.

“I thought it was terrible. I didn’t know what was going on and I thought maybe someone should report it to administration. People were just trying to get away from it,” Johannesen said.
