After two huge games against Iowa City West and Dowling Catholic High School, the City High women’s basketball team stays undefeated, as they head into the tenth week of their season.

“West was a big game because it’s a crosstown rival so it’s always good to play well and beat them by a lot,  but Dowling is ranked higher and we knew that we would have to play really tough,” Andie Westlake ‘22 said.

City High is headed to regionals on February 19th. And with the state championship in sight, the girls are getting ready to compete.

“I think we’re pretty prepared because we’ve played some tough teams,” Westlake said.

When thinking about both the games, Westlake concluded that her favorite part was the energy from the crowd.

“I think the energy was really good. We had a lot of people come to both games and it’s always nice to have a lot of people supporting you,” Westlake said.
