In the state mock trial finals, judges ruled in favor of City High’s team “LAW.” With the decision, the City High team claimed the state championship and will go on to the national competition held online in May.

“Our mock trial program is very lucky to have really good coaches and Lisa Williams was the primary coach of this team and did a fabulous job,” Chip Hardesty said.

The winners include attorneys Shoshanna Hemley, Harper Denniston, Katherine Geerdes, and Julianne Berry-Stoelzle.

“What I’m, most happy about is that all of our teams including one with no experience made it into the state championship, with juniors finishing fourth and the new team finishing with a 1-1 record against difficult opponents.”

Judges were very complimentary of the victorious team. Remarks were made about their professionalism and preparedness.
