This Saturday, March 24, over 50 saxophonists, ranging from junior high students to professionals, will gather to perform in the third annual Saxophone Extravaganza.
Organized by Dr. Jane Williams, students from both City High and West High band programs will participate. Mollie Shepherd participated in the event last year.
“It’s really fun because you get to play with all these professionals and learn from them.” Mollie Shepherd ‘15 said. “ It’s really unique.”
The performance will include a mix of classical and jazz music. Jupiter by Holst and Birdland are a few pieces that will be performed.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children and the show starts at six o’clock at West High School in Iowa City.
