Scoring a 323 the Little Hawks golf team won the West High golf meet.

“A few holes didn’t go my way but I got a rhythm going and bounced back. Lately, the team’s been on an incline and now we’re looking toward districts.” Nick Meredith 25’ said after a team low of 78 at Finkbine.

The Little Hawk golfers won by 10 strokes over West who scored a 333. Aside from Nick Meredith, other scores making the top four were a pair of 80’s from Zach Meredith ‘25 and Jack Rogers ‘26, and an 85 from Ethan Nace ‘24.

“This is a real confidence booster for the team and I think personally I didn’t play that great but the team really came around for a big win. Excited for the tournaments to come and potentially making the postseason,” Jack Rogers ‘26 said.

Earlier this week, in the harsh wind and chilly weather at Thunder Hills Country Club the golf team finished 7th with a 337. The top four scores came from Jack Rogers ‘26 with an 80, Jake Mitchell with an 85, and Zach Meredith and Drake Obermueller with a pair of 86’s.

On the Par 4 8th hole Jake Mitchell found himself in the water. But instead of taking the penalty stroke, Jake took the gutsy route in hitting it from the water.

“My round wasn’t going too well and I knew that it wasn’t very often you get to hit a shot like that, and if I pulled it off it would have been a spark to a great finish.” Jake Mitchell ‘24 said.

It’s this mentality of taking risks, is how the Little Hawks are going to have a chance at a postseason run.
