Mr. McTaggart Brings History Alive

Walking into American Studies is always the highlight of my day. I know that every time I step into Mr. McTaggart’s classroom he will have some lighthearted remarks or small topics of discussion. His calm demeanor is always a stress reliever for me. Whenever I am having a bad day I know his class will cheer me up.

Mr. McTaggart is known for his time at City High for his distinguished career teaching history and his ability to coach young athletes. For the short time I have known him, he has been incredible. He is very caring and friendly toward everyone he meets. History has always been my favorite subject, but his exciting and engaging class further ups my interest in history. Just one month into the school year, Mr. Mctaggart was already involved in my life past school. He was the coach for my younger brother’s basketball team and was always telling me funny stories of stuff he did at practice.

His ability to make small talk and connect with his students is truly a gift. I learned so much about history this year, and his class is by far the most engaging.  Although I am leaving the City, Mr. Mctaggart is a teacher I will remember forever. I always look forward to his class and no other class or teacher will top it. My favorite unit he taught was the WW2 unit. It was so entertaining and I swear I answered every single question. From his kind and caring demeanor to his captivating teaching, Mr. Mctaggart will always be one of the City’s High’s best.
