Shout out to Mr. Sheldon

It’s not always easy to control a class full of thirty high schoolers! But my Biology teacher, Mr. Sheldon, does it every day. Even though I’m not a big science lover I still enjoy going to his class every day. He makes an effort to engage students in the class, makes learning fun and easy, and takes time to play games on special days. He might not always show it, but he really enjoys teaching and likes to hear about what’s happening outside of our school lives. Mr. Sheldon always makes sure everyone is engaged in learning and understands what’s going on.

This past year I missed a whole week of school, I still remember how easy he made coming back to class feel and how he helped me return to learning. He allows students multiple retakes, gives help on projects, and even has his advisories open for extra learning. 

One of my favorite parts of his class has to be the weekly activities before we start class. Sometimes it’s questions like, “What’s your favorite taco place?” Or, breathing exercises to relax. My all-time favorite has to be ‘Walking Wednesdays’. It’s always fun just taking a loop around the back of the school and getting to talk to my friends. 

So thank you, Mr. Sheldon, for always being an excellent teacher and showing the students that you care for them and their learning!
