School may have just started a week ago, but City High Drama is up and running with work starting on the fall play titled Begets: Fall of a High School Ronin. Auditions spanned over two days, August 30-31 and everyone was welcome to try out.
“What I really like about auditioning is that it pushes you to do something very uncomfortable during and before auditions. You are so anxious and the people around you are anxious,” Joseph Fullenkamp ‘24 said. “But it’s such an enlightening experience to realize that you can do hard things.”
This play will be different from the productions City High’s drama department has put on in the past. The play, set in an American high school, will feature fight scenes, dynamic movement, and dark comedy. Callbacks will be held September 1, and the play is scheduled to run November 3-5.
“You never know what you can do,” Fullenkamp said about getting involved in the drama department. “If you don’t do it, then you’re missing out on an opportunity to experience something that you’ve never done before.”
