On January 26th, City High’s Speech Program will be hosting their annual Home Show in Opstad Auditorium. It starts at 7:30 PM, with a suggested donation of five dollars per person. The Speech program is lead by Coaches Brinkmeyer, Lockhart, Lyons and Pitcairn. The show will include a number of acts such as improv, mime, musical theatre, ensemble acting, and the one act play, Confession: Kafka in High School.
Asher Bozarth ‘25, who participated in mime and one act, shared his thoughts about the Speech Program.
“I really love the Speech Program, I think that it’s awesome. I don’t usually want to do a full play or anything like that, but Speech lets you dip your toes into theater without having to go crazy. It’s really fun,” Bozarth said.
5 teams made it to State Speech this year, with the chance of going to All-State. Bozarth made it to State in the mime show Love Lab.
“I’m really excited to make it to State this year! Having more opportunities to perform with your team is amazing,” Bozarth said.
