In the midst of their ongoing world tour, K-pop boy group NCT Dream released a new single titled ‘Rains In Heaven’. The 7-member boy group has been promoting without one of its members for the past couple of months as one was placed on hiatus for ‘health issues’. But this single was pre-recorded so that all of the members would be able to participate.
This is NCT Dream’s first full English song, which was released to celebrate the group’s eighth anniversary. The song itself is a lyrical ballad with an 80s pop song feel. Although the instrumental is catchy and addictive to listen to, the lyrics of the song are what really stuck out. “We are all the same but hurt different / I heard when you cry, it rains in heaven” are the lyrics at the beginning of the chorus. The song uses a metaphor of an angel to represent the girl they are talking about. The oldest and leader of the group, Mark, actually participated in writing the lyrics. He stated in an interview that he wants lyrics to help fans find a sense of solace, comfort, and warmth. This song is set to be added onto the American leg of their world tour, The Dream Show 3 starting on August 31st.
