What motivated you to run for Vice President?
What motivated me was that I think I would be a great fit to help run Student Senate along with Nick. We work together well because we’ve been friends for a while. We’ve been on some of the same sports teams and that kind of thing, so I think we would be a lot better fit than him and some of the other candidates.
If you didn’t win the vice president election, would you still be motivated to try out for another Student Senate position?
Maybe. It depends on what it is and who else is running for it, whether it be secretary or treasurer.
What’s the main thing you would want to focus on as Vice President?
I would want to focus on helping complete some of the fun initiatives that he proposed in the presidential election cycle, such as a seniors versus teachers game, or more things like PowderPuff and PowderBuff. Just that kind of cool stuff that anyone can come and do and participate in. I want to do things like school trivia nights, just fun things like that, as well as continue the senior traditions from last year.
Do you have any specific goals of your own, or are you just there to support Nick’s goals?
I think my job as the Vice President is to support what the President does, because we have to work as a unit in Student Senate. But obviously I’d be willing to listen to what anyone has to say, as well as administer everything that actually goes on in Student Senate.
How long have you been in Student Senate?
I was there last year and a little bit [my] freshman year. I’m currently a senior.
Is there anything else you’d like to say?
I think that my experience being in officer positions for other clubs would really qualify me to do the job of Vice President.
What other clubs have you been in officer positions for?
Right now, I’m the secretary of Interact Club. We go out and do some community service projects. We did a dance marathon at City last year, I helped do a blood drive, we helped with voter registration. I’m also co-captain of the Debate Team where we got state semifinals last year, which was pretty cool.
