Student Senate moved to reschedule Powderbuff volleyball to March 7 because of a conflict with the boy’s basketball playoff game.
“The idea is to [play] volleyball the same night as the carnival. We’d be combining the two events, which is going to be logistically a little bit hard because we need a lot of volunteers,” Steve Tygrett, Student Senate advisor said.
Powderbuff has reached the ideal number of teams, but people with questions can reach out the teacher organizer Travis Carlson.
“We “could” add another team but for the sake of having more time for each game, six teams should run more smoothly than seven or eight,” Carlson said. “That said, we don’t want to tell anyone no.”
At the carnival and Powderbuff volleyball game on March 7, there will be concessions, a cake walk, gift cards from local businesses, and various other prizes, including Beats headphones. Everbowl might also have a stand; however, there are logistical details that need to be worked out for that to happen, as City High has contracts with businesses that sell things at school events.
“There’s a contract that’s made that allows them to sell stuff at our games. Same thing with who we contract for pizza, and there used to be Chick-fil-A sandwiches at the basketball games for a while, too,” Tygrett said. “I just want to make sure that that’s not going to be an issue if we allow that.”
