Student senate began by finalizing Volleybuff and the Spring Carnival. Volleybuff is on the evening of March 7, starting at 5 p.m. The carnival will begin at 6:30 p.m on the same day and there will be prizes such as Beats headphones, a Molly’s cupcakes gift cards, various Lego sets, a Yotopia Gift Card, and more.
“They’re at about a minimum of $20 value, ranging all the way up to 200 depending. So thanks to all of [the student senate members] who helped to bring stuff down. I know a lot of people helped with that,” Tygrett said, “We got really nice, robust prizes.”
The raffle drawing for the prizes will be at the end of the night, a little before nine. The Carnival is also still in need of volunteers, especially since it is combining two events.
“This is really big, putting two events together like this. We just don’t have enough people, we may have to spread you out a little bit,” Steve Tygrett, student senate adviser, said. “We are going to be a little bit short-handed.”
People interested in volunteering can contact Claire Locher, one of the main organizers of this event. Each activity will cost tickets, which are 50 cents each and can be purchased at the door or in concessions. Winning activities will earn tickets that can be entered in the raffle, though the number of tickets won from each activity has not yet been agreed upon.
“If you play a game, you should at least get one, but that’s just me. Maybe I’m a communist,” Travis Carlson said.
Tygrett, however, thought differently.
“We want you [to be] mad and angry, and go spend more money to buy tickets,” Tygrett said.
